Your instructor is Dr. Raywat Deonandan, who has the following credentials:

• Ph.D. in Epidemiology & Biostatistics from the University of Western Ontario
• M.Sc. in Neurophysiology from the University of Toronto
• B.Ed. in Education from the University of Toronto
• B.Sc. in Physics, Physiology, and Anthropology from the University of Toronto

Dr. Deonandan is a tenured Full Professor in the Faculty of Health Sciences the University of Ottawa, where he is also affiliated with the Life Research Institute and the Institute for Health Law and Policy. He holds an additional appointment as Senior Fellow of Massey College at the University of Toronto. He was formerly a Chief Scientist with the Canadian federal government, as well as a long time member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society for Epidemiology and Biostatistics.

A highly decorated educator and communicator, Dr. Deonandan held the Chair in University Teaching at the University of Ottawa, and was awarded the Teaching Excellence Award by the Ontario Confederation of University Faculty Associations (OCUFA). He is also a best-selling and multiple award-winning author, having won the national book award of Guyana twice.
